Research Engineer Production Optimization OEE Expert

FUNCTION

Help build the factory of the future.

At Flanders Make, you work on the digitisation of industry. You will develop innovative solutions at the intersection of data science, software engineering and industrial automation. Together with a multidisciplinary team, you will build prototypes that inspire and support companies in their transformation to smart, sustainable production.

As a Research Engineer Production Optimization – OEE Expert , you will work on innovative techniques to improve the design, configuration and control of production systems. You will develop proof-of-concepts for smart OEE applications and define new research projects together with colleagues.

Tasks

If you work on improving production efficiency by developing advanced techniques and models. You will draw up project definitions and roadmaps that give a clear picture of the scope of the research. You use mathematical models such as constraint programming, genetic algorithms and swarm optimization to tackle complex production challenges.

You will research and develop techniques for smart OEE applications, working with large and diverse datasets. These applications contribute to increasing the effectiveness and sustainability of industrial processes.

Collaboration is essential in this role: you will work closely with IIoT employees, data engineers, project managers and production experts. Together, you will build innovative solutions that will drive the industry forward.

PROFILE

Hard skills:

  • You have experience with constraint programming, genetic algorithms, swarm optimization
  • You have knowledge of applied statistics and regression techniques and experience with OEE tracking software
  • You can present at least 5 years of experience in industry or a PhD in a relevant field
  • You have a strong affinity with production systems and mathematical models
  • You are fluent in English

Education

  • Master or PhD in Engineering, IT, Mathematics or a related domain
