FUNCTION

Together with a team of researchers, you will set up groundbreaking Industry 4.0 innovations for manufacturing companies.

As a Technical Project Leader , you will steer the execution of industrially relevant technological research projects within a European context. Your scope is to lead projects, your project team consists of experts with different backgrounds, technical domains and sites.

Your role:

  • To take on the technical and administrative leadership of European research projects and to encourage researchers to look for new solutions;

  • Building a common ambition with all stakeholders within your project(s): relevant user groups (car and machine builders) and knowledge partners (research labs of partner universities);

  • Strive for excellent project execution;

  • Ensure that project results are both industrially relevant and scientifically excellent;

  • EU Spoc for the Codesigns corelab where you scan for future calls, determine priorities, draw up project definitions and maintain the European network;

  • Defining an operational strategy for EU project definition within Corelab and coaching colleagues for EU project implementation and project definition within Corelab.

Your first challenge

Together with a software engineering team, you will work on pushing the State of the Art and supporting technologies to implement digital product passports (DPP) within Manufacturing as a Service (MaaS) networks. You will use your expertise to draw up formal data models and develop prototype software. You provide technical guidance to the team and monitor the industrial feasibility of the innovative solutions.

DPP will enable products to be tagged, identified and linked to data relevant to their circularity and sustainability. According to the European Commission, DPPs will become the norm for all products covered by the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products regulation. In addition, you will manage a network of stakeholders in various pioneering projects in this field, both nationally and internationally.

PROFILE

  • A doctoral or master's degree in a relevant technical field;

  • At least 5 to 10 years of relevant software development experience, preferably in an industrial environment;

  • Team management and coaching skills for researchers;

  • Project management skills, at least being involved in the submission of project proposals for European projects;

  • A constructive and open management style (empathetic and assertive communication).
