Goal of the internship

The goal in this internship is to further improve and evaluate a vision-based system for mist detection, developed by Flanders Make.
Mist is a common fire hazard that could occur in industrial machines using flammable liquids and that could be correctly monitored and avoided.
Starting with the available set-up in Flanders Make, the internship student will further improve this monitoring system both in HW and SW.
She / he will conduct series of experiments to evaluate the improvements and iterate to develop a robust mist monitoring system.

Profile student

  • Bachelor degree in Computer / applied sciences;
  • Experience with image / video processing;
  • Familiar with camera’s configuration and interfacing;
  • Knowledge of MATLAB;
  • Result oriented, responsible and proactive;
  • A good communicator, able to communicate in English;
  • Eager to learn and a team player.

Practical data

This assignment is an internship.

The assignment is for 3 to 6 months in Belgium at Flanders Make in Leuven.

All software and hardware needed for the execution of the project will be provided by Flanders Make.
