Finance Manager

As Finance Manager, you determine the financial policy in close consultation with the CEO. You are the contact person for the company auditor, the audit committee and the Board of Directors for all matters concerning financial reporting.

Together with your team, you not only maintain close contacts with the CEO and the management team, but are also the first point of contact for our employees regarding the financial aspects of their project administration.

Job description

As Finance Manager of Flanders Make vzw:

  • You determine the financial policy in line with the organisation's overall strategy;
  • You are responsible for preparing the budget and for the financial analysis and monitoring of projects;
  • You are responsible for establishing contact, initiating the necessary actions and entering into agreements with the relevant government agencies (e.g. VLAIO, EWI, etc.);
  • You are responsible, together with your team, for the further development, automation and professionalisation of the different domains within the Finance department. Think of controlling, analytical accounting, project monitoring, etc.
  • You follow up all relevant legislation and regulations regarding financial matters and make internal processes compliant with them;
  • You are an inspiring partner in processes of change in the field of Finance and act as sparring partner for the various internal stakeholders (central office, core labs) for all finance-related topics;
  • You are responsible for procurement procedures that fall within the scope of application of the Public Procurement Act (WOO) and you also follow up the relevant legislation;
  • You coordinate the organisation of the General Meeting as well as the voting rights of those present;
  • You are an active member of the management team.


For this challenging job, we are looking for a colleague who:

  • has the necessary experience in the financial management of an organisation (corporate or non-profit) in general and in analytical accounting in particular;
  • has a master's degree in an economic, legal or human sciences field;
  • has preferably 10 years of work experience;
  • is diplomatic and eager to contribute to finding solutions;
  • is a committed confidant;
  • has strong organisational, analytical and coaching skills;
  • is hands-on and fully committed to the job;
  • has a positive attitude by nature.
