Sectormanager
FUNCTION
As a Sectormanager, you play a crucial role in valorising research and development in the manufacturing industry.
You ensure that the new insights from research have an impact on the companies in your sector, such as e.g. Agritech, Transport & Logistics or Healthcare & Life Sciences. You give direction to the technological strategy within your sector and are a bridge between companies, technology and research.
Flanders Make supports the Flemish manufacturing industry with technological challenges around product development and production, so that companies remain competitive in an international context.
To achieve this mission, we are building a strong ecosystem in which innovative manufacturing companies and top researchers find each other and work together on the Factory of the Future. Within this ecosystem, we realise numerous research projects that deliver proof of concepts in response to shared challenges from several Flanders Make companies.
Your tasks as a Sectormanager
- Mapping ecosystems within a sector and identifying strategic sector challenges;
- Translating these challenges into concrete innovation projects;
- Visiting reference fairs to build sector expertise;
- Maintaining C-level contacts with companies and capturing innovation needs;
- Adapting the sector roadmap based on evolving sector needs;
- Follow-up of innovation projects and coordination with companies and research partners.
PROFILE
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in the industry, in one of the sectors mentioned;
- A master's degree in engineering or commercial engineering or another master's degree program with sufficient experience in the sector;
- Experience in strategic project management and sector development;
- Strong communication skills and a C-level network;
- An analytical mind and the ability to translate complex needs into concrete actions;
- Knowledge of technological trends and innovation processes;
- Team player where you achieve better results for Flanders Make through cooperation with colleagues;
- Sufficient knowledge Dutch (native) and English.
